Populations Served:

Dr. Spurling treats adults age 18 and older currently residing in the state of Florida.  Dr. Spurling utilizes a hybrid model of mostly video appointments and one time in person physical examinations prior to prescribing of controlled substances when indicated.  The timing and location of this in person appointment is flexible and is discussed during the initial appointment.  Dr. Spurling has significant expertise in working with first responder personnel, college students, and geriatric patients but does not treat veterans currently receiving mental health treatment from the VA.  Tampa Psychiatric Care utilizes a network of independent psychotherapist for more intensive counseling when indicated.

Due to the limitations of the clinic the following services and conditions are not offered or treated by Tampa Psychiatric Care:

  • Patients under the age of 18 years old
  • Actively suicidal/homicidal patients
  • Urgent psychiatric services
  • Medical cannabis
  • Forensics evaluations including:
    • Child custody services
    • Disability claims
    • Guardianship evaluations
    • Workers compensation claims
    • Fitness for duty
  • Emotional support animals
  • Schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorders
  • Developmental disorders
  • Elimination disorders
  • Paraphilic disorders
